Bleed Blue

We want student-athletes who are leaders of the school, both on and off the court or field. ND Athletics prides itself on creating a strong sense of community across all teams. Our goal is to create a positive training environment that helps inspire and educate our student-athletes on a daily basis.

ND’s coaching staff is made up of passionate teachers as well as community coaches. Many Notre Dame Alumni come back to coach the teams they were once a part of.

We work to provide our student-athletes an enduring family culture and an elite training environment that inspires, educates, and develops future leaders and champions.

The Cross Country running program is open to boys and girls of all grades and running abilities. Its aim is to promote a life-long love of running and fitness. The program is available in the fall; and while cross country running is mainly non-competitive, there are racing opportunities for serious runners that include Cross Country Meets at Jericho Beach and Provincial Championships. All participants run long distances (3 to 5km) over a variety of terrain. We have practices two days a week at Empire Fields and around the school.

However, depending on participation numbers, we have run up to 4 teams in a season by adding a Grade 9 team. We like to give as many boys as possible the opportunity to represent Notre Dame through basketball. We compete in the competitive Independent School League and are part of the AA Vancouver Sea-to-Sky Zone.

The Senior Girls finished 6th in BC in 2022, and they are currently the 4th ranked AA team in British Columbia. In recent years, the Senior Girls Team has regularly qualified for the BC Provincial Basketball Championships. 2022 was a special year as the Bantam, Junior, and Senior teams all earned berths into their respective Provincial Tournaments. The season runs from late November until early March. A high level of commitment is required, and many Juggler Basketball alumni have gone on to be successful university and college student athletes at the NCAA, USport, and PacWest levels. The Senior Girls made a great start to the current season, taking 1st place honours in the J.O. Jokers Tournament in December and beating a strong AAAA West Vancouver High School to win the 2023 Notre Dame Juggler Classic at home in early January. Up next is the always exciting BC Catholic Schools Basketball Championships at Holy Cross School in Surrey. Field Hockey is played on a turf field and the positioning is like that of soccer. Typically there is 12 – 18 girls on the team, including a manager.
