The Humanities Course offered at Notre Dame encompasses not only content areas of Social Studies and English curriculum, but also focuses on skill development, critical and creative thinking, and communication.
This course is uniquely designed to take these skills and apply them to the content areas so that they can be applied cross curricularly across disciplines. In this class, students are expected to learn and grow their development of critical analysis, synthesis and comprehension.
Through the content areas of Social Studies and English Language Arts, vessels like novel studies, short stories, creative writing, poetry and literary devices help to shape meaning. Students can demonstrate their learning through inquiry, research, and project-based learning in a collaborative environment where all students are celebrated.
