Dear Notre Dame Families,

I hope you are enjoying your long weekend. Many of our staff attended First Aid training here at the school, while others were offsite at various provincial Pro-D offerings.  As we look forward to our annual Open House next week, we encourage you to invite members of your community to join us and learn more about Notre Dame. Please check with your child, as many of our students will be staying to volunteer as members of the band, choir, clubs, teams, student council, etc. It will be an early release for students not staying for set-up or other volunteer roles.

Here are a few important updates and highlights from this week:

Academics

Tuesday was a busy day on campus. Our language classes hosted the Crepe Truck. Students enjoyed delicious crepes and practiced their conversational French. Thank you to Mrs. Robinson for organizing this yearly event. We hosted 12 UBC student teachers for a day of learning more about Notre Dame. We finished the day with our band’s performance of Arachnophobia.

Term 2 for electives started this week, and Interim Reports were sent out today. Please ensure you are able to access these reports. Instructions are included in the email sent home should you require assistance with your MyEd account. Our website also has information HERE should you need assistance.

Athletics & BC Catholics - Volleyball

This week, our fall pep rally featured all our fall sport teams. Each team was introduced, followed by a fun game between representatives from each sport. The final game featured teachers and administrators, with Miss Schaper-Kotter coming up with the big win over Mr. Dela Cruz. The BC Catholics, Sr. Girls Volleyball Tournament began Wednesday morning. We began with a Mass celebrated by Fr. Maurizio from St. Jude’s. After two action-packed days and excellent crowd support from our students, our very own Jugglers won bronze. Congratulations to the LFA Angels, who won gold, and the STMC Knights, who placed second. This event was made possible by the generous support of many parents, student scorekeepers, Mr. Briones, Mrs. Cirillo, and Mrs. Schaper-Kotter. Thank you to everyone who played a role in supporting this annual Catholic schools event.

Upcoming Events

  • Notre Dame Open House (October 27): Our annual Open House is this Tuesday, October 27. If you know of any prospective families, neighbors, or friends who are considering Notre Dame for their child's education, please encourage them to attend and experience what makes our school so unique.

  • Halloween Activity Day: Friday is a Juggler block schedule with special activities planned by our Student Council. More information will be shared with students regarding costume expectations and appropriate attire.

Have a wonderful weekend!
