October 9, 2026 — Principal’s Weekly Update

Dear Notre Dame Families,
Happy Thanksgiving!
Today we celebrated the votive mass of Our Lady of Lourdes. This was a beautiful reminder of our devotion to our Holy Mother, the Patroness of our school. This past Sunday, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi was celebrated at our feeder parish, St. Francis of Assisi. We take this time to acknowledge their 90-year celebration with gratitude for the many years of support for our school community. May God continue to bless St. Francis of Assisi in their ministry to our school and diocese.
Community & School Recap
This week, all Band Students in all grades received workshops and masterclasses on their chosen instrument with invited professional flutists, clarinetists, saxophonists, trumpeters, trombonists and percussionists. This provided specialized assistance and skill development, ahead of eight ambitious performances for the Notre Dame Senior Concert Band in late October. The October 20th Fall themed Concert, entitled Arachnophobia, is also being performed at the October 27 Open House and six CISVA Elementary Schools. Included is a special setting of Schubert’s Ave Maria, an important work for the Catholic Community.
A special shout out to our Senior Boys Soccer team, who competed at the BC Catholics yesterday and today. After round robin play, their success seeded them in the final vs. Archbishop Carney. Although they didn’t come out with the victory, we are proud of the boys and thankful to Mr. Pavan and Mr. Wright for coaching and supporting the team.

Important Reminders for Students/Parents
As the weather begins to change, we begin to plan for our formal dress code implementation. This year and moving forward, the date for formal dress code to begin is the first day of school following Halloween. This year it is November 2 (All Souls Day). Formal dress code will be in effect until the first day of school after Easter. Students are welcome to dress in summer or formal until October 31. Thank you for ensuring your child has all the items required for formal dress code. This can be found on our school website.
May God bless you and your family this Thanksgiving. Enjoy your Monday together.
