October 2, 2026 — Principal’s Weekly Update

Dear Notre Dame Families,
Happy Friday!
As we come to the end of another busy week at ND and begin the month of October, I want to take a moment to thank our students, staff, and families for the energy and commitment they continue to bring to our school community.
It has been wonderful to see our students in the classroom, at morning choir and band, and participating as members of volleyball, football, soccer, field hockey and cross country teams this week. Getting involved in the many clubs and groups makes Notre Dame such a special place. As a Catholic school community, we are continually reminded that in our work together we are helping our young people to Know, Love and Serve. Yesterday was a perfect example of this. Our Grade 8 students, along with volunteers from Grades 9 and 12, were on retreat. We are thankful to OLS for hosting us for a day focused on KNOW. Together our students explored the relationships they have with themselves, each other and God. They celebrated Mass together as the class of 2031 and participated in small and large group activities. This foundational retreat sets the stage for the next 5 years together. Our next retreat will be for our Grade 9 students on October 13. The focus of this retreat will be LOVE. Thank you for supporting your children in the development of their faith through our retreat program.
Community & School Recap
Thank you to our parents and guardians for your continued support of our students and our school. I enjoyed meeting you at Meet the Teacher, Homecoming, and as volunteers and spectators. Your partnership with our staff is an important part of creating a welcoming and successful learning environment. You may have noticed our activity on social media has increased over the past few weeks! We are pleased to announce the addition of Mr. Nicholas Greco, ND ‘21, to our staff as Director of Communications. Nicholas will be coordinating our web presence, social media, and overall communications with the greater community. Welcome to Nicholas, and keep updated by following @ndrsjugglers on Instagram.
Upcoming Events
Please take a moment to review the school calendar HERE for important dates, retreats, activities, performances, athletics, and upcoming events. Please use the link HERE to purchase your Oktoberfest tickets. This event is open to everyone in our community, alumni, future families, and current families. Please continue to sell and support our PSG raffle tickets. Every dollar raised supports student activities.
Important Reminders for Students/Parents
Thank you to those students and families who are arriving at school at 8:15. We continue to see many students arriving late. Students who arrive after 8:25 will be late to class, as they need some time to go to lockers, unload, use the restrooms, etc. We encourage families to begin leaving 10 minutes earlier than previous years. This ensures any traffic issues will not impact learning.
Have a wonderful and restful weekend!
God Bless,
Mrs. Andrea Prout-Bernett
Principal
