November 6 2026 — Principal’s Weekly Update

Dear Notre Dame Families,
As we enter into the Month of the Holy Souls, we hold in our hearts and prayers the members of our community who have gone before us.
Thank you for ensuring your children had all the items for the start of the formal dress code. Please refer to our website HERE for more details.
Here are a few important updates and highlights from this week:
Academics
Our annual Post-Secondary Fair takes place this Thursday, November 12. There will be 18 post-secondary institutions from across British Columbia in attendance, giving students the opportunity to explore their options, ask questions and learn more about the programs and pathways available to them.
Athletics
Please continue to check the school calendar and Instagram for game times and locations. Today we hosted a very rainy Archbishops’ Trophy Game vs. Vancouver College. Next week, our soccer team continues on the road to the Sea to Sky championship playing on Tuesday in the semi-final game.
Our annual Fall Sports Banquet is just around the corner! This year, tickets can be purchased through our new NDRS Shop. If you’re planning to attend, please be sure to read the ticket description at checkout, as it contains important information about the event and ticket purchases. You can purchase your tickets HERE.
Grade 12 Encounter Retreat
This week a letter was sent home regarding the relaunch of our Encounter Retreat program for our Grade 12 students. A Google Form was also shared with the students to indicate their availability (December or April) based on their extracurricular schedule. We encourage all our students to take advantage of this opportunity to connect with their classmates as well as grow in their faith.
Campus Ministry/Care Collective
As part of our commitment to serving others and living out our Catholic faith, Notre Dame Campus Ministry, together with our Care Collective Club, is pleased to organize a clothing donation drive supporting the outreach ministries of the Archdiocese of Vancouver.
What Are We Collecting?
Men's and women's jackets and coats
Men's and women's shoes
Donated items do not need to be new. Gently used items are welcome, provided they are clean and in good condition.
Where Can You Drop Off Donations?
A donation bin labelled "Clothing Donations" will be located near the school office. Students and parents may drop off donations at any time during regular school hours from November 3–13, 2026.
All collected items will be sorted and donated to the outreach ministries of the Archdiocese of Vancouver, including the Catholic Men's Shelter, The Door Is Open, the Migrant Farm Worker Ministry, and the ministry supporting individuals released from prison. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and continued support of our school community's efforts to help those in need.

Students interested in applying for Grade 8 should register for the Placement Exam, which takes place November 25–27. Please remind your family and friends.
