October 30 2026 — Principal’s Weekly Update

Dear Notre Dame Families,
As we end the month of October, we extend our gratitude to everyone who attended our Open House this past week. Today, our students enjoyed a festive Halloween Activity Day thanks to the efforts of our Student Council.
On Monday, our formal dress code begins. Please ensure that your child comes to school dressed appropriately. Please refer to our website HERE for more details.
Please continue to follow the drop off and pick up traffic regulations with care. As the mornings continue to darken, our first priority must always be the safety of our children. Students crossing streets and dropping off in lanes or on the opposite side of the street put drivers and children at risk.
Here are a few important updates and highlights from this week:
Academics
Please ensure you received your child’s interim report last Friday. For help viewing the report, please click HERE. Our first formal report card for term one will be issued Friday, November 13th. Parent/Teacher/Student conferences will be held November 19th and booking information will be sent out with the report cards. It is always best to have your child with you at these meetings. There will be two in-person sessions and an online session on the 19th. More detailed information will be sent out with the booking form. Please continue to speak with your child about their progress and do not hesitate to reach out to teachers should you have any questions before these reports are issued.
This Wednesday, November 4th, is our Literacy 10 Exam for students enrolled in English 10 this term. Detailed information will be shared with students. They should expect to be at school by 8:00 a.m. if they are taking the am exam sitting. Upon completion of the exam, students will go to classes for the remainder of the day. Students in the afternoon exam session will be called down from their classes for the exam. This will all be shared on the Grade 10 Remind and by English teachers.
Athletics
As we head into November, all of our sports teams are gearing up for the playoffs and/or finishing regular season play. Please check the school calendar and Instagram for game times and locations. Wednesday, November 4th is our Sr. Volleyball Seniors Night where we recognize our Grade 12 players. Friday is the Archbishops’ Trophy Game vs. Vancouver College. Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m. here at Juggler Field. Please join us for this historic match. We will be honouring Mr. Wayne Steele, class of 1957 and a member of the first ND football team. Good luck to our senior boys soccer team and our girls field hockey teams, who begin playoffs this week.
